The idea of "He's a career man - she's an activist. An open cry to all aspiring authors: drive and ambition and caring about making the world a better place are not mutually exclusive attributes. ![]() I get so tired of these types of stereotypes. ![]() I know that the author thinks she's added dimension to them by pointing out their flaws and making them part of dialogue in the book, but I think she just highlights how they were caricatures to begin with. Here's the problem with this book - the characters are really flat. ![]() STRANGE BEDPERSONS just made me feel insipid, like reading a tabloid. But when you put down a book and feel dirty because you just spent a few hours reading something so inane, it's probably time to move away from the genre. I know that chic lit isn't really a highly intellectual art form, but it's fun and harmless. But this was the straw that broke the camel's back. It isn't good, but I've read a whole lot worse in the genre. First off, this book really isn't that bad. ![]()
